Bluefolds Highland Holiday Cottages are committed to providing a good, high quality service whilst also minimising the environmental impact of our activities and we encourage our guests to follow this example.
We encourage all our guests to ensure that their environmental impact is as light as possible while holidaying with us.
We believe that all environmental policies should evolve and as such our business will annually review its environmental policy in the light of suggestions made by customers, new legislation and the availability of affordable new environmentally friendly alternatives.
Due to the rural aspect of our property using public transport quite often isn’t a viable option. However, for those that are able, getting out of the car and experiencing our local Scottish landscape on foot or by bicycle is an exceptionally rewarding experience.
All lighting throughout the cottages is provided with either LED or Energy saving technology.
Water is supplied to the cottages from two natural springs, in line with local authority requirements it is filtered, passed through an Ion exchange resin bed before being UV light sterilised and routinely monitored for quality. Within the cottages water saving systems are in use including the toilets and showers.
We encourage our guests to recycle whenever they can, using a range of clearly identified bins to segregate the waste and compost facilities on site.

Respect the countryside
Bluefolds Highland Holiday Cottages actively promote the country code, value the natural wild areas and want our guests to experience them in their pristine beauty. However, access to the countryside comes with the responsibility to look after your surroundings. We encourage our guests to dispose of litter responsibly and while you’re out and about, the best thing to do is to bring it back to our accommodation and dispose of it there.
